I'm stillll heeeere! $20 Amazon Giveaway

Yes, I'm still around.  RECENTLY I've gotten some crafting done - imagine that! I will post those projects this week.  In the meantime, one of my favorite blogs, Sew Many Ways, is hosting a blog giveaway link party, and I'm hosting a $20 Amazon gift card blog giveaway.

Isn't that an awesome idea for a link party??
So go check out some blogs and win something!!

BUT not before you play MY giveaway.  I have no reason to do a giveaway except that I LOVE parties!!!  So grab a drink and some hors' d'eouvres, and comment below.  Here is the party game:
  1. Share your favorite holiday tradition (any holiday) in a comment box on this post!  It can be something you have done, or just something you would like to do.
  2. Be a follower or become a follower of Kitchenfunk. If you are already a friend(follower), then just make sure one of your posts tell me you are.
  3. You get 3 comments to yourself, the follower comment counts in those 3 chances. The other two should be traditions you love!

I will be emailing the WINNER the link to the Amazon card,
so DON'T forget that email address or to make sure you have a profile!

This party will run until Thursday, November 21st, at 7pm. NOW Let's start this party!

  2. Our christmas tradition is when our elf, Jingles, visits us the day after Thanksgiving. This is a fairly new tradition as my kids are 3 and 5 and we've only done it a couple of years. This year will be even better as I joined Pinterest and there are a TON of ideas on there for fun things to do with him. I can't wait to surprise my kids!!

  3. Another Christmas tradition we have is to get together with my sisters families at my parents house on Christmas Eve. We all choose one present to open and then go to midnight services.

  4. First off....howdy stranger...I have missed you! Ok now that that is out of the way....one of the traditions we do is on Christmas day we have a birthday cake for Jesus. We even go as far as singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. It has always helped me remind my kids what Christmas is all about. Now it helps me teach my nieces and nephews (whose parents don't!) sneaky huh?

  5. My other Christmas tradition is that I get up at the crack of dawn and make homemade cinnamon rolls so that they are done when everyone is done opening their presents. My daughter (16 yo) refuses to go a Christmas without them. We are traveling this year on Christmas day and she said "we can't leave till after the cinnamon rolls" lol

  7. As a blended family gatherings are quite large. We have a Christmas buffet/open house so people can come and go as they have time. There is a lot of pressure to visit everyone and this helps ease that pressure a little bit.

  8. We also have a gift exchange just among the grands. When they have all arrived the opening of presents begins. Tons of fun.

  10. A Christmas tradition I loved as a child was for all the family to gather at my Grandparents' house on Christmas Eve. That tradition continued at my parents' house with all their children and grandchildren.

  14. Comment Two- I found a box of plastic 'crystal' snowflakes (about 40) that I hang from my dining room light by fishing line each fall. This year they stayed up all year.

  16. Some of my favorite Christmas traditions happen on Christmas morning. Growing up, my brothers and sisters and I had to wait outside of the living room for my parents to wake up. We couldn't cross the invisible line that would let us get more than a peek at the presents and the line also made it so that we couldn't go into my parents room to wake them up! One year, we sang really loudly to wake them up. =) I also love the fact that we open presents one at a time, taking turns and having the presents passed out to us by my dad. Each present gets a few minutes of oohs and aahs on its own and it makes it that much more special for the present giver and receiver. I ALSO love that we don't even get to open presents until after we eat breakfast. Once my parents wake up, we all go and open our stocking and then start making breakfast. Then, after breakfast and when everyone's ready, that's when we can finally sit down to open presents. It sounds torturous lol but I love it. Even though we're getting older, we still do all of these traditions and we all love it =)

  20. My favorite Holiday tradition started last year after my niece was born. We go to my brother's house early Christmas morning for breakfast and then watching my sweet niece open her gifts and read the Christmas story. :)
